1. How did you get started into MMA? I am a mom of three and I started my oldest in karate. Instead of watching the classes as most parents do, I decided to join. I began in a recreational fashion and kept stepping it up. I met (now my husband) Roger Woo and his teachings in Mixed Martial Arts and brazilian jiu jitsu was exactly what I was looking for. He is an amazing instructor and our team currently is undefeated. I think that speaks for itself.

2. What team do you fight under? Team Woo - MFS

3. Who is your coach and how has he or she helped you in your journey to where you are today? Roger Woo, my husband and hero. He has worked with me for three years now and everything I know I owe to him. He is a brown belt in bjj under Renzo Gracie and a level three instructor and a purple belt in MMA under Pat Miletich of the Miletich Fighting Systems.

4. Are you excited about your first pro fight in January?!! When, where, and who are you fighting? I am fighting on January 27, 2007 at the Armory located in Manchester, NH for “Combat Zone 20 - Cagemasters”. I am very much looking forward to my fight. I am eager to put all my knowledge to use. My challenger is Sabrina Meserve.

5. Who would you like to train with that you havent yet? I had the opportunity to train with Pat Miletich when he came out to do a seminar with our Team this past October. I would love to have the opportunity to go to Iowa someday and work with him on his turf. He is an amazing man!

6. What are your hobbies outside of the ring? Well, I adore my family and spending quality time with them is always first and foremost. Believe it or not, I am a former ballerina. I love to dance!

7. Who are your sponsors? Dont have any.

8. What are your thoughts about the boom of MMA in the U.S.? I love the sport and to see it become more refined and appreciated is thrilling to me. I am a UFC junky, I admit it. Although once frowned upon, MMA has made its place in the world and I intend to be a part of it.

9. What is your current record? This is my debut fight!

10. What do your kids think about you being a fighter? My daughter and my younger son do not have much to say about it. My oldest son… well, he wants to be ringside to see me in action! He trains with us so this is a common bond with the Woo family.

11. What reactions have you gotten from people when you say you are a female fighter? Most of my friends see me as a ballet instructor so the reaction is quite comical. All I can say is, come and see for yourself!

12. If there was male vs. female fighters who would you want to get in the ring with? That is a good one. As you may know, female fighters are few and far between so all of my training partners are men. I fight the men on my team on a daily basis and I have the utmost respect for all of them.

13. What fights do you have coming up in 2007? Just my debut fight for now.

Thanks for the interview. Have a great holiday season.
