An old KOTC show with (someone trained by Joe Camacho vs Cub Swanson, and a Joey Villasenor fight. The Green Ranger making his mma debut. Ray Mercer vs Kimbo Slice. And last but not least http://xtremewrestlingtorrents.net an illegal (in the US) p2p torrent network that hosts a lot of MMA content.
We discussed the Cage Brawl card promoted by Sam Abraham that happened June 9,2007. A general synopsis of the conversation: Bobby did not get to fight on that show. It was said that he did not make weight but he had a verbal agreement with Rodney Carter (the guy he was fighting) that the fight was going to happen even though the Ohio representative had not gotten there to weigh them. The representative was supposed to show up at 3:00pm (The day of the fights!!) and was very late for the weigh ins. Bobby had already gone back to his room to rehydrate for the fight. The promoter, Sam, did not contact him to tell him that he had to make weight when the representative got there. When Bobby was told it was to close to 6:00pm and there was no way for him to make weight. The fight card went on and there were many problems. Also, one of the fighters on the card who goes by Tha Super 1 had been dragging Bobby’s name through the mud. He had also refused blood tests from the Commission and was not allowed to fight. Allan Stamp was also on the call and he corroborated the story and explained in more detail some of the things that occurred. He explained how the promoter had only bought 8 pairs of gloves and had 17 fights scheduled for the card. A suspicious thing was that Sam A was a manager of Rodney C. Tonight I went over the UFC Fight Night 10 card that was on Wednesday with Andrew that was at that show live. Then I went on to discuss Battle in the Ballroom SummerFist a show that will be occurring on June 28th, 2007 at the Marriott. There website is www.battleintheballroom.com. Afterwards Tim from MMA Discussions joined the show and we discussed some more topics. Tim will be doing a show tomorrow night and I will be doing a show Friday night with Bobby Friend.
Mikey Burnett is a legend in Mixed Martial Arts and has been competing for a long time. He has a long history in this sport and has quite a bit to say about the current state of MMA and where this sport will be in the future.
today I (toby glenn) an doing a special episode with Ryan Bengard a friend of the now deceased Jeremy Williams (of the IFL). Jeremy had the nickname the spider and was involved with Apex Jiujitsu. Jeremy was a familyman and left behind a wife, daughter, and another (daughter) on the way. He competed as a middleweight fighter for the IFLs southern California Condors, and was undefeated in two bouts in the IFL.
Cub Swanson will be joining me on the show tonight we will be talking about his fight in the WEC this weekend. He is fighting Micah Miller (8 - 0). Cub is a fighter with a record of 10 - 1. Cub’s only loss was in his first fight back in 2004. He was actually in a casino at the time in Las Vegas.
